She needs to be running on her toes, and not on her heels. (Leaning more forward.) - I tried running more that way today, and I was a little faster! (without getting more winded) - Thanks Tanya for the tips this week.
I'd tell her to go ahead and start a lay away plan for knee and hip replacement prosthetics if she's going to continue to run that way. Otherwise, I'd say start using your hamstrings to pull with instead of pushing off the back foot. Re-distribute your center of gravity so that your lead foot is striking the deck directly under your hips, and landing on the ball of your foot. In addition I'd incorporate a forward lean at the ankles so that she can utilize gravity to her advantage instead of working against it. That's just my two cents though... : )
I do not know if the runner is running on water, ice or some other smooth surface, but since it is reflective it may be slippery, which could cause her stride to be off. KurtS

AMEN VIC! Spot on Brotha and Happy Birthday to the Marines today! Thank you for all you do!
Julia, just a note, be careful to not run on your toes, think run on the balls of your feet :) Glad it's helping!!
