Keithy likes ladders! But still has a lot to do to get prepped and ready for the Open.
Proud of my wife for competing in her 1st comp outside the walls of Apex....she took 12th overall and also likes ladders! She made it to the 2nd row! hit 125#
Please send pictures & videos from this weekend my way
Good job to everyone that laid it all on the line. That ladder looked like a good time.
My favorite part was not dying. And learned I need to work on technique.
Good times and everyone kicked ass. Abig shout to Erica and scratch and Lou for totally crushing it! And you to Bus for owning that ladder. Awesome pr E Rock! You da man!
The 3rd wod with the stones was my favorite. I got 10th in that wod. I also really liked the ladder, just wish I got farther on it. Think I was 24th overall, pretty sure I could have done better, but was struggling from getting a cold and bad pain in my hip, but I'm sure everyone was hurting so I can't use that as an excuse. Had a great time though, great job everyone
Awesome job at the Rally, Apexers! I wish I could have been ther3.
Nice work this morning with the 6 am crew!
9rds + 5 (jpu with plate on high bar), 10# WB, 26# KB. Loved warming up with a row!
awesome job everyone. it really is inspiring.
E-rock also likes ladders!!! What an awesome feeling getting to the second to last bar (245) which I almost got. I learned I am slow on thrusters, one minute of max effort on the airdyne sucks, ttb still need work. My goal was top 10 and I finished 7th with my best finish being 3rd in the ladder. What a great experience. If you are on the fence with signing up for a competition do yourself a favor and sign up.
Clean PR 235!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My biggest take away from this weekend was the humbling experience that CrossFit provides.
Just two weeks ago I was competing and fighting for a podium spot. Yesterday I was just fighting not to be last!
Even though I failed at 205#, the excitement of even getting that far in the clean ladder was definitely the highlight for me!
11+2 14#WB/35#KB
12rds.+ 5. 14#mb 35#kb. Awesome job to all those that competed this past weekend. Truly inspiring!
So I know it's not about the Rally but I figured I'd share too. Ran my half marathon yesterday. PR'd by about 3 minutes. I ran the race about 1:45 min/ mi faster than any any of my training runs.
Since starting crossfit at the end of August I've really only run one or twice a week, one of them a long run. This is the least running volume I've ever trained. Shows just what crossfit can do in just a few short months. Excited to see what else is to come! After a week away from the box for tapering, I'm ready to be back! :) congrats to all who competed this weekend
I had fun at the Rally and am glad I pushed myself outside my comfort zone, even though I felt way out of my league up there. Surprised myself with the much dreaded run & thrusters, though :) Would have liked to finish better overall, but it definitely helped me see that I need to work more on technique and lifting heavier. Felt good to be part of Apex nation and to cheer with and be cheered on by the whole gang! Can't wait to do this all over again at the Rumble in a few weeks!
Congratulations to Sarah on a great Half Marathon!! And congrats to all of you who competed in Rally!! You are all inspiring and it is great to workout with you all on regular days, but I am really looking forward to the Rumble to be challenged by you all!
What an incredible weekend!! It was awesome hanging with the Apex crew! I felt so proud to represent Apex Nation. I surprised myself with my rests considering I haven't been training as much as I've been wanting to. I was so nervous... More than I ever expected to be but now I'm ready for the next comp! I want to be on that podium next to Julia next year!!
Wow, I don't really know where to start. I spent a lot of time watching everyone compete and could probably give a great moment for everyone who was there this weekend. I would hate to leave anyone pout but Erica was really awesome on Saturday, Julia Menzo put together a really solid days work, Erik's clean ladder was so exciting, and the list goes on.
Lots of awesome moments this weekend. Most of them, however, revolve around being part of the team. As some of you may know, I gave up playing competitive soccer this Fall so I could spend more time concentrating on Crossfit. It was tough decision but this weekend made it all worth it. Getting to see everyone push themselves was really inspiring and getting to workout as my teammates cheered me on was awesome. We have a really great group of people here at Apex and while I am fairly new to the group, this weekend definitely made me feel more like part of Apex Nation.
On a personal note, I keep going back and forth between being happy at my performance and being disappointed that my weaknesses (read weightlifting technique) were so weak and that I squandered a chance to get onto the podium.
I think my biggest lesson (other than the crap-load of mental notes I took watching Jordan Troyan compete on Saturday) was that every single rep is important, especially in competition. I had a few no reps that could have earned me first place in the second event, instead of the tie for second that I ended in. A little cleaner in some of my movements and I would have been $50 richer:)
My personal highlight was my finish in the Rocksteady event, with the TTB, Atlas stones and axle bar lunges. I have never done stones nor have I touched an axle bar so I was pretty happy that I was able to go into that workout with a solid game-plan, follow it, and end up taking second place overall, just one rep from first.
Again my head is spinning from all of the awesomeness that this weekend supplied. Thanks again to Apex Nation for being such great teammates.
Oh and I cam in and did today's workout at 9 am...
10 rounds + 9 reps at 44# kettle bell, 20# WB and butterfly pullups.
Of course my hubby's PR was my highlight at the Rally:). The ladder was my favorite to watch. So many competitors had so much intensity and grit showing on their faces. I loved it. Very inspiring! I was cheering for people I didn't even know. Congratulations to all .

A big thank you to Nikki for saving me on the pull up rig. Had a minor malfunction which freaked me out a bit and she came to my rescue. One of these days I will master the dreaded pull ups...grrrr
I am enjoying reading all of these heartfelt blogs!! Love our Apex family!! Great job to everyone at the Rally-it was sooo exciting to watch. Was supposed to be selling muffins but watching you all compete was much more exciting!! My Brenna was a trooper at that booth-Kudos to her!! And congrats to Sarah on your half marathon PR!!

So happy everyone was able to keep things up to date on facebook. Thanks for everyone who kept things coming. I am so happy to hear that many of the first time competitors enjoyed themselves. No matter your placement you have just made yourself better. Great job for taking the risk of competition and use this to help your day to day training moving forward.
So glad to be able to help coach each of you on a regular basis. The CrossFit Open is just around the corner, March will be here before you know it!
Great job to everyone this weekend.

Oh my gosh what a fantastic weekend. Moments for everyone...Bekah on the 125 clean, Lou mad fighting in that last wod, and being with Jamie as she tore through the airdyne were some. It was super cool having so many from the Apex family at the event. For me personally I was really happy that except for the very first run where I spazzed and went out too fast, I went hard and steady the whole day and like Lou, Rock Steady was my favorite wod. My kids made it in time for the final wod and I was happy they were there:)
I know when it comes down to it, we all have to get it done ourselves, but for sure it makes a difference having a strong community along the way to help you come to know who you were made to be.
35 quigiesLou...I don't know how you worked out today! I looked like a 90 year old woman going down the stairs!! Way to go, by the way....you did awesome!
Congrats to all the competitors this weekend, very inspiring.

Aw thanks hon ;-)
Was a fun day for sure!
What a great day and such a sense of family. Thanks to the athletes and fellow apexers who came out to cheer us on. The surprise at my own strength was and still is the highlight of my day. In big time crossfit 125 is light weight but to the Bekah Bus it was a major PR and a huge sense of accomplishment. Loved the crowd cheering me on, just beyond motivating. The ladder by far was my fave but I also hit a PR with 22 unbroken HSPU which was cool. That airdyne was the absolute worst. My appologies for my foul language while riding it...
Congrats Apexers, so proud of everyone!
8 rounds + 15 / 10# WB, 26# KB
felt like I should have gotten more, but shoulder was not happy. Feel fine now tho.
12 rounds +17 with 53# bell 14# ball
7 rds + 2. Rxd
No apologies necessary Bekah, that was my favorite moment! "I hate this f'n thing!" We all laughed! I found out that I thought the 45# stone was easy! but everything else???really needs work! I need to commit and get to the Box 3 times a week! I am better than 2nd last place! Disappointed, but glad I competed! Thank you to all who cheered me on! Especially Julia Barndt who kept me going on the Airdyne!
8rds + 25 high jpu/6#/26#
the kbs really got to me on this one; wasn't quite anticipating that.
not a problem Lora! airdynes are soul suckers so cheering sections are a must :)
My favorite WOD was the 8min amrap 10 TTB, 8 stone to shoulder, 6 fatbar lunges.
Clearly I need to go faster...I thought I was going fast, but everyone beat me. :-(
I did this WOD today and felt pretty good... 12 rounds plus 12 10#-10' and 26#KBS
