Beautiful weather and strong performances highlighted this, the 7th week of the 2016 Apex Summer Swimming program.
ReplyDeleteToday's group of 11 did some vertical kicking + core work in the diving well, worked some "odd" freestyle drills and tried different breathing patterns before taking on today's swim WOD, which I called "Breathing Penalty."
"Breathing Penalty"
EMOM 16 of 25 yd swims on a :60 interval.
Swimmers must exit the pool and complete one push-up for every breath taken during the 25 yd swim.
"Penalty" pushups must be completed before the next interval begins.
Some swimmers scaled down to a :90 second interval, which results in a few less laps in the 16 minute time domain.
Results:
Frank H. 10 rounds 25 yd swim and 5 pushups in 16 minutes
Devan Y. 14 laps in 16 minutes. 4 on the :60 interval. 8 on :90
Nikki W. 14 laps in 16 minutes. 4 on the :60 interval. 8 on :90
