This was an odd but fun one to come back to. Im really starting to dig double unders as I was able to string a couple of these sets together straight without stopping.

Missy and I tried a new one for us today- "Little Runny Angie".

We might have to give "Annie" a try tomorrow.... what about those of us who still can barely do a double under, or two at a time at the most...do you have a suggestion for the number of singles to do each round?

Angie- 19:58
Missy- 19:06

The ratio is supposed to be 3 single jumps for every 1 double under.

Since the tendency would be to scale down the DU when they come up in a WOD so that you dont loose intensity....I would suggest practicing DU for 10 min before the wod every other day or something till you start getting them down. I think once you can string 3 together, you really then have no excuse to not do them.

Practicing them in non WOD time is what got me up to speed on them....It didnt hurt being forced to do them during a WOD where your so focused on time that you mentally take yourself to a place were it starts to click for you either =0)

Just my two cents. But id be curious what our coaches have to say.

Evening Crew (Paul, Julia and Tj took on Nancy which they have never completed.) Great work too everyone. Did I mention that TJ has phenomenal form on the OHS. Julia took home an APEX best of 16: something I can not remember. Julia can you help me out so I can get it right on the board. Thanks and great job.

Tanya and I took on LOOOONG Road Home. All I can say is HARD.

Scrappy...nice two cents. Yes, I agree, keep working on them!!!! Practice singles as FAST as possible with quick wrist circles and then keep working on getting double swings even if your feet get caught. Get your wrists and forearms used to swinging fast. After you can get a few doubles by themselves then its just a timing thing and a little confidence. The ratio is 3-1 for us and I would say I'd rather you sneak in doubles wherever you can in that tripled number. GOOD LUCK!!!

Great job to the evening group with over head squats...not an easy move. Great form TJ, we may need you to be our demo guy for this one!!!

One alternative to double unders are tuck jumps. You basically jump in the air and hug your shins and then land on your feet. This gets you off the ground with some force. I subbed box jumps in for Molly so she could work on the jump and still maintain the nature of the WOD. Have fun with it.
