10:15 just completed. I see that the burpee demo shows that you touch chest and thighs to floor. this seems to leave room for cheating by not really doing a full pushup within the burpee. any thoughts?
Just finished this one. It didnt have the same intensity as when I went against Felice in this wod, but was right on that pace with that day.
4:15 rx (was 4:07 last time)
Kelly...great to see posting on the blog and with some great times at that. Here is link from the crossfit main site that demos burpees as well as some variations.
Warmed up with about 1 hr of shoveling. Then ran up to the Y to do this took a little less than 8 minutes. I only had the wall clock. A little slower than last time (7:29). I think the shoveling and the fear of dumping affected my time.
Way to be Apex Athletes! The snow won't keep us down! Good time Molly and using a wall clock even...Scraps that's very respectable...NICE JOB Kelly!
As for the burpee question, it's really the full range of motion that we're looking for as the standard for the movement...the most efficient and quickest way to do that is to drop into the "down" position of the push up. You still have to maintain some muscle control on the fall or you'll slam your chin on the ground. You are still going through that push up, just without a pause. We can talk more about range of motion and integrity of the moves next time we see you! Great resources Scrappy, thanks!
So before our intro Wod this evening I took on Jeremy. I was not aware of my last results from this WOD until I looked back to my log this evening. Tonight I finished in 4:18 along with very tight quadriceps.
Last score logged for Jeremy was at the end of July. I used 65lbs for the OHS and finished in 6:04. How far my OHS has come in half a year. Remember that for all of you who may be discouraged when struggling with weight or a particular movement. Keep up the hard work.
