Week 2- Lord and Lady Recap

The Lord and Lady competition is really starting to heat up! The attendance almost doubled in week 2.

Here are some highlights from week 2.

In WOD 1: "Sweet Cheeks", 2 minutes of back squats with 185/115, the newcomers came out swinging. Mike Wooters set the bar extremely high with 48 reps for the + 19 Males, Cathleen Rush punded out 38 reps for the +19 Females and for the little leaguers Cory Capaldi dropped below parallel 51 times and Makenna Kressley posted 34 reps with 35#'s.

In WOD 2 "Spit Shine" the leaders from week one were not going to lay down for the newcomers. For the +19 Males, Kurt and Mike were neck in neck throughout the wod with Kurt edging Mike by 10 seconds and retaining his spot on top of the + 19 Males.

Kacie Heilman entered WOD 2 with something to prove, she breezed through Clean and Jerks and finished in a speedy 10:50. Angie was right on her tail and finished second securing her spot at the top of +19 females.

Cory Capaldi was still hyped up after WOD 1 and used it to his advantage in WOD 2. He finished with a lightning fast time of 8:33 and took another first for -19 Males.

Makenna Kressely maybe the only -19 female, but she still has something to prove. She battled not only the clock but also herself and fought through both WODs and posted stellar times.

What will Week 3 hold for our Lord and Ladies?

Side Notes:

The white board and the spreadsheet may not have the same point totals. The spreadsheet holds the correct totals.

How the scoring works: each athletes place in a wod = their point value.

Example- Cory C. took two 1st places in week 2 = 2pts. He was the lowest athlete for the week which earned him top spot and a total of 1pt for week 2. He was not present for week 1, which earned him the highest totaled posted last week= 5. Those two totals are added up earning Cory 6 points overall.

Changes for Week 3:

Apex will open their doors at 7:30 am for warm up and stretching. The WODs will begin promptly at 8am. Athletes are encouraged to check the WODs the night before and figure out their strategies and weights they will use that day.

If I got 4th place and 5th place,.. shouldn't my total be 9? That's how everyone else's total seems to be working.

Brian's seems wierd too, how are we both 4th place in the first week? I'm confused.

Mike you took 5th place on both workouts this weekend which gives you a total of 10pts. Brian I think is a type from last week with both of you in 4th place. He took 5th. In the overall place standings however it is still correct.

See ya'll tomorrow.

Eustice,
you are correct....I made the changes on the master sheet( you have a total of 9 points overall and Brian's 1st wk place was moved to 5th)

Math on a saturday night is not my strong suit, that's why I teach S.S.

Thanks for heads up and keeping me on my toes.
