Such a good quote you posted. So the weight was good for me, not a struggle like I imagined. Those bleeping TTB....UGH. I know I was so nervous and shaky- felt like I wanted to vomit just thinking about them. My mind got the better of me and I was having trouble with KTE even Kipping. Stayed on the bar just trying but no success. Coming back in tonight and tomorrow morning for "redos."

63 RX...am pretty happy with that although a re-do is still sitting in the back of my mind. Any plans for an Easter gathering post church?? haha!

First, I PR'd. C&J 1 RM 135#. My form is still needs work. I keep tending to press rather than jerk. And I've been advised that I'm bending my arms too soon.

Scaled back to 95# on 13.4.
69 reps.

7 behind Nina!

My lower back is sore now. I need to go back to light weight and focus on technique.

Some Reflections on Marriage, CrossFit, and Christ between Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

My wife and I were recently discussing how my involvement with CrossFit seems to have been improving our marriage. I'm not so sure that's a good thing. If I get into a car accident and spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair, God's grace is still sufficient, so I shouldn't need CrossFit to excel at being a husband. Likewise, I shouldn't need CrossFit to excel at being a content Christian. Still, I love the discipline and community and the healthy release of endorphins after a good workout. The discipline and consistent upbeat disposition carries over into every aspect of my life. Work is going well. Family life is going well. My relationship with my wife is going well. Church is going well.

As great as CrossFit is, CrossFit can become an idol, and I know I need to be on my guard. I should be just as zealous for the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount as I am for what tomorrow's WOD will be. I should be even more zealous - no - much more zealous for Christ's teachings. And I shouldn't need CrossFit to develop an unconquerable soul.

There are many reasons that I have to be thankful: I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful little girls. I have a good job. I have some great friends. And on top of all that, I get to be a part of the Apex community.

Of all those wonderful blessings, the greatest of all are those that are tied to the historical events that we are commemorating this weekend. Christ has died - on a rugged cross - to save sinners. And Christ has been risen from the dead. What a great salvation!
