  4. Rich Froning is my pick. He started slow last year as well. He will be there in the end.

  6. 9:21 14# 40 singles. Finally strung together 6-7 DU's before the WOD. Hopefully I can attempt to do them in a WOD next time.

  7. Great energy and tremendous heart this morning.

6am props is to Frank the Tank for his awesome display of tenacity. And also to Lou for gritting out those double unders and staying on it.

    Gave it a whirl
    5:52 single foot SJR 14# 8' WB

Really have to settle in and focus on this one. Relax and keep breathing.

First round hit 39 jump ropes, then messed up! Started over again. Mental WOD on those ropes!

  9. 8:01 10# WB/SJR
    - The key was definitely finding a rhythm with the jump ropes to avoid mistakes.
    - Great energy from the 6am crew today!

My pick is Chan but it will be tough to beat Froning. Khalipa may have as good a shot as anyone.

  10. I really have to stop looking at the WODs when they get posted and thinking to myself, "this one doesn't seem too bad". Every time I do that, it comes back to bite me!! This is the first time since I have been Crossfitting that a WOD totally frustrated me. And I think the more frustrated I got with the jumping rope the worse it got. When I settled my head and stopped thinking about it so much it started to come back.

    WU
Did 80# comfortably with snatch grip deadlift and into a snatch. Attempted 110#, but couldn't get from the finish deadlift position to snatch finish with that weight. I did do one Power Snatch at that weight at the end.

    WOD
time was somewhere around 20 minutes. I don't remember exactly and don't really want to remember it. I didn't want that silly jump rope to beat me. I was happy that I could string 40 singles in the first three rounds. But I couldn't get it done in the 4th round. Did two sets of 20+ and the 5th did one set of 20+. Used a 10# wall ball. Wall balls were no problem, just that damn rope!! I will fix it though!!

Thank you to Shanna and the whole 6am crew for encouraging and pushing me!! This 6am group is AWESOME!

  12. Speaking of Unbroken, the book "Unbroken" about Olympic runner Louie Zamperini and POW in WWII is a great read...

It was fun working with everyone in 9 a.m. this morning. I agree with Shanna...it's one where you have to shake off frustration, reset and get back to it. It was great to see everyone buckle down and get through it today.

    I was 9:35 or so...14lb wallball to 9'.

  13. WU- Worked up to 110# on the snatch grip deadlifts and power snatch complex.

    WOD--8:13 14# WB
Was really second guessing my double under choice (first time stringing them in a workout) during the second round when I had to restart four times but went unbroken for both WB's and double unders in all of the other rounds.

Love the 6 am group! I feel like there's a certain chemistry building with us early-risers. You can definitely feel it during things like CF Dodgeball :) as well as when one of us needs an extra push to finish. Glad to be a part of it!

  14. Lou, did you feel like you had WB redemption today?

  15. WU: 135#

    WOD: 8:39/40 singles/14#

  16. Got up to 95lbs on the snatch complex. This WOD was good for me as wallballs and DU's are weaknesses. At round 4 I think I did 3 sets of 17 wallballs! So frustrating but I learned to clear my head and push through it. Used a 10lb to a 9ft and rx DU.
Congrats to Steph M for finishing, she gave it her all at the end! Very inspiring!
I will be backpacking in Colorado from tomorrow till Sunday so I will see everyone next week! Hope you all keep working hard and staying positive! :)

  20. SJR and 6# WB - 14:04
It was hard to keep the smooth flow. I would get to 34 35 SJR and then screw up. Oh well. Awesome working at with the 6 a.m. crew.
