9:05 55# 30" box jumps pike hspu. Just added OH lunges with wall balls and burpees to my least favorite movements in a WOD list. It feels like someone smacked me across my thighs with a bat. WOW!

(I thought I was doing 36" and got excited for a minute, oops)

I really dreaded doing this one, but was actually really happy with how I did & felt. keeping that bar overhead the entire time was bigtime for me.

Used #100 for strict/push press warm up and bumped up to #110 for the last single one.


WOD
12:50 60# 30" box jumps first three rounds did 1 HSPU and 2 30" box pikes and the last two rounds to 3 box pikes.

My thighs are still screaming!! After the first I noticed that I was falling behind everyone else because of the transition from the single HSPU to the box pikes. After doing the third round I cut it to 3 box pikes. I wanted to push myself a little with the weight and #60 felt good when I tried before the WOD. But man those last two rounds had my thighs on fire!

inspiring a.m. effort this morning! As for first games wod? I'd like to see a wod that includes a skill test, like hitting a ball to a target or a 5 m platform dive or something like that.

Stayed at 130# for the PP warm-up. Felt solid.

As for the first workout for the Games, I would really like to see a swimming WOD. I know there is a competition pool close to the Stub Hub Center, it would be awesome if they would do a non-open-water swimming workout!

Warm up - worked up to #85 PP

WOD - 8:07
1 HSPU negative
27 inch box (4 rounds)
30 inch box (last round - only box avail). I was too chicken to use a 30, but I probably could have used the 30 for the entire WOD.

Warm-up: Worked up to 1R at 85#... I definitely think I could have done more.

I opted to go a bit lower for the lunge so I could focus on the box jumps - super pumped to get all of them at 30" - didn't miss one!
